The saleh·baleh Experience

I started sewing as a child, making some rather unusual outfits for my dolls. (Barbie lounged in a full length rose print knit robe while Ken sported a less-than-practical felt crop top and shorts!)

I began making clothes for real people after traveling to Italy in high school where I saw so many great things that I couldn't afford and probably wouldn't have fit me. When I got home, my mom helped me recreate some of them and my sewing obsession was born!

Since then I have continued, using both purchased patterns and those I've created myself. Choosing a unique design and making it out of a unique fabric is such a treat. And as a curvy girl, I like nothing more than a "non-standard" body to design and sew for. Fashion should be fun! I encourage my friends and clients to experiment with clothing, trying things they sometimes think will be unflattering, but just might turn out to be unexpected favorites. I pride myself on providing my clients with bespoke garments that fit well and are comfortable.
